Hi Hui Wen.
Very random question, but does your iphone work in Seoul?
I'll be going to Seoul soon for my studies, and I've read a lot of reviews online that our phones don't work in Korea since they use CDMA technology, and SIM cards are not required.
Just wanted to get another confirmation.
So while you're in Seoul, do you use their prepaid plan or...?
Beatrice: Lucky you for getting to be in Seoul for a bit! :D Well, my iphone works like normal in Seoul (wifi, data plan, calls), but I don't change to a Korean line though. Nonetheless, I don't see why iphones won't work with their sim cards as I see HEAPS of people using iphones over there (yes, more than Samsung! :O)! You might have to do a little bit more research on this, sorry I am not of much help! :(
Ah, i see. But the thing is our iphone (bought in Malaysia) has a sim slot, whereas iphone in Korea doesn't (?). So if I intend to get a Korean line, I don't think it'll work, unless I stick to DiGi and get charged exorbitantly throughout the months. LOL. Nonetheless, appreciate your input. Thank so much! :D
Beatrice: I am no tech expert, but I suspect even if the sim card slot is different, there maybe some sort of coverter? Good luck with the research! :)
anonymous: Haha, close but not completely right! See next post. :P
