The Nutcracker.

We went to see the ballet on Monday night. :)

I have always wanted to go for ballet. But my dad, being a traditional, conservative, and controlling (typical) Chinese man, disallowed me to take up ballet. I used to have piano lessons in a ballet academy, and always before and after my piano lessons, I would press my nose against the glass pane of the dance studio's door, while I look enviously at the girls in their pink leotards (navy for the higher grades, I remember) lacing up their ballet slippers, gliding on the shiny wooden floor, leaping and twirling effortlessly, all with big smiles on their faces.

Needless to say, I have always, and still have a soft spot for ballet. :)





Looking our finest, for an outing that we have been planning for quite some time. :)





We watched The Nutcracker.
The ballerina in the poster is holding the Nutcracker doll! But it looks a taliban instead in the picture.


And now I can't get the Sugar Plum Fairy song out of my head!

Thank you, my lovelies, for my first time to a ballet performance. Kind of a childhood dream for me. :)

Ok, the plan was like that:

Ball on Thursday,
Ball on Friday,
Saturday, start of semester break.


But due to some misunderstanding, turns out we didn't reserve spots for our South East Flats' Residence Ball, which, incidentally, we only found out on Thursday itself.

I even had my dress picked out already! :(

But our college head warmly invited us to join the after-dinner drinks session, so we decided to make the best out of the situation-- a hearty hot pot buffet before heading to the drinks session.


At hot pot dinner:


Smalls overwhelmed by the pungent tang of the spicy soup.

Which reminds me, I took this picture of a mountain of tissue paper used by Smalls during the dinner, because she kept on dabbing on her runny nose and tearing eyes, but I accidentally deleted it. :(
They could easily charge us another person's portion just based on her usage of Kotex tissue k! -_-

And oh! Did you notice that I have a solitary curl on one side!!!
We were playing with our hair, experimenting with what to do for our ball on Friday... And as we were running late for dinner, I only curled the front part of my hair, and had to run for dinner.

And well, to cut the story short, one side was curled by Smalls, and the other by Jac.

The curls that Smalls did boing-ed to straightness within 5 minutes, leaving me with an asymmetrically curly look.

I put on a facial mask before sleeping last night.


I spent 2 weeks thinking of what outfits to wear when we go out.

I went for the Chadstone VIP sale just now-- sort of a must go every semester.
I didn't really have anything that I needed/wanted to buy in Chadstone, but I haven't missed a single Chaddy VIP sale since I came to Melbourne, so I didn't want to break the streak wtf.



Very late night supper at Pancake Parlor (the only place still opened at midnight).



Chris, whom we met during the ski trip, and who has became a fast friend. :)

'Cause I am utterly shell-shocked.


For the first time in almost 2 years, I have barely bought anything in the VIP sale! My highest record was... I am embarrassed to admit this, equivalent to a small designer bag... T__T But today, I actually controlled myself, and I got only 'business' buys (medicine, underwear...)!
My only non-essential buy was a dress, which cost AUD16.95 (from AUD89.95)...
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME.

I think I am reformed. :)




Mey was there too, but I didn't dare take a picture of her, for the poor girl has been out the whole day looking for a ball dress for our ball on Friday, and she warned us already that she had no make up on.


So I replace a picture of her with a picture of:

I didn't have dinner k! T___T
And haha, my diet is screwed for today-- 'cause I also had one of the best ice cream flavors!
New Zealand Natural's White Chocolate with Rasberry-- purely orgasmic.
I don't usually favor flavors without cookies/crumbs/cake/brownie bits in it, but the white chocolate chunks! Oh, I swear to god, I flew to heaven. :P




Haha, this picture is so cute! It looks like a scene out of Alice in Wonderland, what with the boys gaping and being towered over...


But I didn't manage to snap a shot of the boys grabbing Tweedledum and Tweedledee's crotch soon after. -_____________-




Because I lined up for 2ominutes for the fitting room, I felt compelled to make my time worth it. :P




And they used real live models in the lingerie shop!
Very ANTM-ish. :)
