Food fiesta.

Ms. Read with the sweetheart, about a week ago.


Hahaha, damn funny, during the initial period that I was back, both the boyfriend and I were still relatively cash-rich, so we whizzed into pricey eateries without a second thought. Fast forward to two weeks later, we have delved too deep into our funds, and now you will only see us in your neighborhood's friendly mamak. :D



And my contacts (left eye) broke into two pieces during our meal!
And I only found the other half in my eye after 1 day. DRAMA!!!





Duck Confit pasta.


I have heard loads of recommendations on this one, but it was only above average for me.
I think partly it's cause I subconsciously dislike commercialized restaurants... It's like, I felt the dish lack soul, y'know?
But a very important point: ALL RESTAURANTS SHOULD STOP DISHING PARSLEY INTO DISHES. PARSLEY IS NOT MEANT TO BE EATEN.




Smoked salmon sandwich.

No surprises with this one, but then again, you can't go wrong with a sandwich! :)
But I love eating (raw) salmon sandwich-- it makes me feel uber healthy!!

Food glorious food:


Strawberry cheesecake.

VERY good! Smooth and light! And the strawberry topping isn't too sour nor pungent!
Might be better than Italianni's New York Strawberry Cheesecake. Hmm, that reminds me, I have to make a trip to Italianni's soon.



Tiramisu.

Another delicious dessert. It tastes like traditional tiramisu (creamy and usually served in a pot/bowl/cup), unlike those thick starchy self-proclaimed tiramisu cakes (think Secret Recipe).




Cookies and Cream cheesecake.


I love anything cookies and cream, but taking on a totally unbiased stand, this is one of the best cookie cheesecake I have eaten! :)
Way better than Secret Recipe's Oreo cheesecake.



Jing's lemon pie.
Being the whipcream-phobic she is, she scooped off all the whipped cream, and only ate the crust. -_-




Baked apple pie with custard.

Words fail to describe this! Anything with custard, and I am smitten. But vanilla custard sauce? And honeyed almond pieces toasted to perfection? Soft warm crust of apple pie pastry? Spoonfuls of milky vanilla ice cream?

Perfecto. :)



Teeny's order, roasted beef slices with pasta.


The pasta is tossed with olive oil and basil leaves, a little on the dry (and oily) side for me, and I don't think take beef, so, meh.

Other dishes that we had, but I did not take pictures of, 'cause I did so in my previous write-up about Bakerzin: Smoked salmon pasta, mushroom and ham pizza (TWO), crabmeat and avocado salad.

We were so stuffed that we were forced to cancel two desserts! :'(



ZARA. While Jing and Teeny were scouting for more things that they shouldn't buy.


And guess what!!! I am going back on the 25th!! :D :D :D :D :D
Another 2 more weeks of home, another 2 more weeks of sheer happiness. :)
