Finders keepers, losers weepers.
So, I drove to Camberwell today.
Haha, NOT!
Where to find car drive in Melbourne lah.
Or more accurately, who dares to let me drive their car in Melbourne.
Or anywhere for that matter. -_-
I was just a happy passenger, on the way to Camberwell, which is one of the famous flea markets in Melbourne.
Along with the other passenger, Smalls.
Whom took much persuasion from me before finally wearing her cute red overalls.
It'll be cold! She said.
It is sunny today! And if you're cold, wear tights! I said.
Look at me! I am wearing a cotton dress only! I added.
You don't count! You're superwoman! She answered.
Our lovely drivers! :) :) :)
You may remember Bernard and Azlan, whom we got to know during bar-hopping sometime ago.
Guys we picked up at the bar, HAHAHA.
I have been wanting to go to Camberwell market for ageeeees. Zahra has always been egging me to. But a lack of transport is a major deterrent. The market opens at 7am (and closes at 12pm), it would take me an hour to get down to the city, and another 30minutes to take a tram from city to Camberwell, and the worst thing is, the first bus from the flats is 9.35am on Sundays (Camberwell market is only open on Sundays), and that means if I take public transport, I will only reach Camberwell at 11.3om! o_O
SO when Bernard offered to bring us to Camberwell, it was YAHOO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! :)
And it took us less than 20minutes to reach Camberwell from our flat.
*&%$@#*^%!!!
I need a car, bloody hell.
A mere glimpse of the market.
I found it ironic that even a random picture that I snap of the market has pretty arrays of clothes in it! :)
The market was not as big as I have imagined it to be, but it sure has everything!
That you'll just have to be alert, peel your eyes open, and dig, dig, dig! :)
Ye Olde English.
I loved this! Perfume pump!
Doesn't it look so Victorian and feminine!
Time out for pictures of objects, time for some pictures of me! Hee.
I have no idea why I looked so fair.
Intent in uncovering any gems I could get my hands on.
I repeat, I do not comprehend why I look so fair!!!
It looks as if I cut off my head in Photoshop and pasted it on someone's body, bwarghh.
And I look like a pufferfish here.
I thought of my brother when I saw these!
He likes cars and anything vroom vroom.
Errr, is it that obvious that we split up from the boys? :P
Camberwell is love, I am telling you!
It's like a treasure cove, and all you need to do is just put a little heart in your search, and you shall be rewarded.
Needless to say, I was. ;)
This was really scary.
And the freaky part is, I suspect it's left there as an item to be sold!!!
This brings blow-up dolls to a new level. -_-
Old school foosball table!
Sooooo cute. And I am totally feeling it, 'cause I've started watching old episodes of Friends again. :)
Peter Rabbit and hui wen.
I love this picture I took of Smalls!
The whole setting is just so tranquil...
But of course, it's fake lah. Smalls can't read, haha!
Slow down your pace, and smell the flowers. :)
And the boys were ever so sweet, they actually waited for us while we did our groceries!
And I saw this:
It wasn't me! :P
And we had dim sum for lunch. *big happy smiles*
It's such a treat k! Last semester, I had dim sum only once in Melbourne.
And erm, today was my first this semester.
I love love love dim sum! Cut more pigs and make me siew mai tralala!
The sweet sweet guys who brightened our day with marvellous activities. :)
A fraction of what we ordered.
I love it when you order and order without any qualms!
I am born greedy.
And Smalls was disgusted by these little fishies.
Their beady eyes!!! That's what she's afraid of.
But ceehhh, she still ate so much. :P
And you want to see big boys' toys?

Yes, two grown boys fully mesmerized by the candy machine. -_-
But thank you so much boys! Smalls and I really had so much fun today. :)
*big fat PLATONIC hug* (boyfriend reads my blog, HAHAHA)
And, time to show off the fruits of my labor! :)
I am most satisfied with my purchases of accessories... =)
As it is, I love jewellery so much, I love vintage accessories even more! :)
Button earrings.
Not-here-not-there dangly earrings which I most likely won't wear, but OH, they look so pretty!
And you see the green and gold earrings at the bottom right corner? It's a pair of clip-ons, and I broke it just now. :(
Worse still, it's the only pair out of this lot that I most likely would wear. :(
Brooches. So dainty and pretty! :)
This is a really delicate necklace-- those are pressed flowers inside!
I think the lady gave this free to me. :)
Yups, due to my sterling bargaining skills, I managed to cut the price of all the jewellery I got to almost half of the stated price, AND she threw in a couple of free things (2 pairs of button earrings, this necklace, and one or two brooches)! Wheee! :D
Very vintage-looking. :)
I think my mom used to have one!
And this is my multi-layered pearl necklace with a Chanel-like gold flower, pwetty! :)
And for the clothes...
I didn't actually buy vintage vintage clothes, 'cause they look a little dodgy (it IS a market, after all), but I sure snagged a lot of pretty items! :P
I think this jacket is SO cute! The adorable print reminds me of Paris, the place, not the slut.
Vintage looking dress!
I love the contrast of the light gray-ish-green-ish-blue and the red.
And the balloon skirt means I can adjust the length to be slutty short! :P
This is a pantsuit! :D
I have been looking for something like that for ages...
And I actually got it for 3 bucks! And it fits SO well.
Just pair it with some oversized sunnies, VA VA VOOM! :P
And I love this top! Love the beautiful detailing of it. :)
I think Smalls hated it though, she says I look like a gypsy in it. ;)
It's actually from a Melbourne designer (I googled it!=p), which was why it was not exactly cheap...
The original price was AUD140, but I got it for a really good price! :)
Another vintage looking dress... :)
It's not really clear in the picture, but it comes with crotcheted straps, which is really, really cute.
And it's made of silk, hell, I love the pleats! :)
And presenting you, my favourite buy of the day!
This is from the same stall that I got the gypsy top from (it sells branded stuff for a much lower price)...
This dress is by Kuku ( I tried to google the website, but I couldn't find it), and it was originally AUD180!!!
I got it for a fraction of the price. :)
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE it... The silky material, it's so soft and smooth, and when I tried it on back home, it fitted perfectly! SOOOOOO HAPPEEEE.
And though it was my splurge of the day-- I paid about Forever 21's price for it (after all, I was at a market), I was still very HAPPEEEE. :D
I only have one question. Why I spend as much in a market as I spend in a shopping mall wan? :(
Anyway, don't want to ponder about that. Thinking is bad for the brain, hee.
Before I end my post, here's a little expose on me...
Here's how I look like when I shop! :P
I LOVE FLEA MARKETS AND BAZAARS!
I am always at the bazaar in the Curve, if you see me, come say hi!! :)

Gypsy lady!
When I grow old and grey, I'll use your blog to remember the good old days which you depict so well. You're so quiet in your room! Silence smells fishy. Hahah
yellow_monsta: Hahaha, unfortunately, I won't be going to Camberwell anytime soon-- no transport! Go get lego cars as replacement lar! :P
Steph: Aaaah, thank you darling! *heart swells big big* :D
Are you in melbourne too? 'Cause you asked me to bring a big cloth bag to Camberwell market, and when I got there, I realised that the stall do not put your purchases in bags! So I should have take heed of your advice.. -_-
And ooops, I am so sorry for posting so many pictures! My friends are always complaining, haha... But they keep coming back for more HAHAHA. Hmm, maybe I should stop posting so many pics? :(
mustardqueen: But it was a FLEA MARKET!!! You don't get those in M'sia! So my expenditure was justified!=p
smalls: Elve girl!
When you are old and gray and I am not ('cause I will use La Mer), we shall sip tea along coastlines, and laugh at the good old days in our pristine chanel jackets. :)
i don't really visit your blog much but when i do, i need to refresh like a million times! i dunno why but the pics just won't load. everytime i refresh, 3 or 4 pics will load and the rest wont! so i have to refresh like crazy considering that your blog has an insane amount of pics!
ok say all that in one breath. fuh! oh and i heart the yellow dress too.
hehe no, im not in melbourne, but I do know some of the market places there won't give plastic. So it always makes sense to bring a big baggie and dump all the stuff in! =p
