Raya update.

As I am typing away now, I have a snoring puppy in front of me, and a snoring fiance to my right. I can't help but chuckle to myself; listening to these two boys in my life, their snores making quite a symphony.

The first 2 days of the long weekend have been lovely! Think 1am bak kut teh supper, chocolate truffles, free gifts from lucky draws (free movie tickets and a cupcake stand that I am planning to use to store my jewelry-- it's from Visa by the way, just pop by at KLCC!), furniture shopping, dim sum lunch, a Chanel purchase for someone, puppy kisses, iced Chai tea latte, and lots and lots of TLC and laughter.

Also went to a Raya open house by the boy's boss-- who has my dream garden complete with lots of foliage, a swimming pool, a wooden patio, and fairy lights hanging on an enormous old tree that towers over the outdoor wooden dining table. Walked into the house and was immediately greeted by a smiling little girl who tucked a fresh flower behind my ear. :) Met the fiance's bosses who bring the term 'globalization' to a new level-- think American, Australian, Belgian, British, French... all under one roof. Feel so happy that the boy has such amazing bosses. :)

The second Boy Chanel in the family. One more was added to our family today! ;)

Wore this on the first day of Raya. Would have loved to wear something more traditional looking, such as a kaftan or a maxi skirt, but staying at the boy's place leave me with quite limited outfit choices. So I settled on green accents with the bag and shoes, hehe.

The chicken and egg story. Do I feel happy because I was wearing happy colors, or did I choose happy colors because I was happy? :P

The best part? There is still 2 more days of the long weekend to go! :D

Eurotrip 2013: Munich.

Going to continue blogging about our Europe trip!

Before I continue, this was our itinerary:
Paris> Amsterdam> Cologne (Germany)> Munich (Germany)> Innsbruck (Austria)> Venice (Italy)> Rome (Italy)> Florence (Italy)> Lucerne (Switzerland)> Paris

  photo IMG_2493_zps79801465.jpg
Today's location is self-explanatory. :)

Some cathedral which I do not know the name of. Fuck this shit, this post is off to a bad start wtf.

Me with said cathedral. Surprisingly Munich was swarming with tourists!

We were given about 2 hours to walk around in Munich, but being the typical Hoe family i.e. huge food lovers, we decided to spend a portion of our limited time at a classic German brewery!

The brewery that we went to is called HofbrÀuhaus, which is one of the most iconic breweries in Germany. The annual Oktoberfest is held here too! In fact, I later found out that Hitler was at this exact brewery before. :O :O :O

Cheers to icy cold beers!

I really didn't like the look of this dish 'cause the sausages looked like penis wtf.

And the most heavenly dish of them all...

Authentic German pork knuckle.

And for such a good price-- less than 10 euros, which is about RM40?? After taking a bite of this, I declared it as the BEST pork knuckle that I have ever eaten!

Many people in our tour just bought a sandwich and walked around the town, but we didn't regret our brewery experience one bit. I feel that the wooden benches, the sharing of tables (we shared our seats with a New York couple and we shared stories about our countries respectively), the live music (played with traditional German instruments), the clanging of beer mugs, the freshly prepared Germain cuisine... they are all part of the authentic German experience. :)

By the way, pork knuckles are really cheap in Germany (averaging at about 10 euros max)... We saw take-out sushi at random stalls (not even proper restaurants) going for 40-50 euros. -___-

Getting down and dirty.

So on-hand I have two immediate projects, one which is not so fun, and the second one, well, a lot more fun.

The first one: toilet-train Rocky to potty outside. He already knows how to potty inside the house, but we think that him doing it outside will be a lot more cleaner and easier for us. Am kind of dreading this, 'cause I know it's going to be tough, so any tips from dog-owners on this would be much welcomed! :)

The second project-- to decorate our bedroom! We have already given the room a fresh coat of paint (we chose a pale taupe), and got a nice comfy bed, and there's limited work that we can do 'cause there are built-ins and some of furniture like study table and closets will have to stay, but I still think that we can add some nice touches to the room to make it ours! :)

Some of my inspiration:

Can't wait to show you guys the end result! :)

Wore this outfit for tea with a friend and then for dinner with Teeny after that. It's always so lovely to catch up with my loved ones! Especially Teeny whom I don't see much nowadays 'cause when I am home she is always out exercising. -_-
