All packed.

I am back!

And off again! To Macau and Zhuhai!

I found out on Thursday that my dad bought a 6.45am flight and nearly died wtf. We are leaving the house at 4am, which means I have to wake up at 3am. Usually at this time I haven't even gone to bed. -_-

I am done packing, wearing a lot of dark colors this time around (as opposed to my colorful outfits in Melbourne), to suit my mood I guess.

Looking forward to egg tarts! :)

Melbourne 2009: Day 6

Here is an attempt for me to diligently blog about our (very old) Melbourne trip again! 'Cause our Macau trip is coming up soon, and I don't want a huge backlog of traveling pictures. T_T I just realised that it has been slightly over 4 months since we have been to Melbourne, and I have only posted up 5 days' worth of pictures (I was there for 10 days)! That means effectively I have been posting one day's worth of piccies each month. -_-

Day 6 coming right up! But I think my gung-ho determination in posting Melbourne pictures will be met with many challenges... 'Cause I checked my folder, and found 405 pictures for Day 6! T____T

Day 6 split into half ok.. T_________T

Beware, my friends! There are almost 50 pictures here! :P

The plan for Day 6 was Saint Kilda... But not before we made a detour to Federation Square.

Am I really that much shorter than Jing! :O :O :O

Federation Square. :)
Gosh, there's something about Melbourne's air/sun/lighting!! All pictures turned out SO NICE.

Outfit:

Red structured soft chiffon top: Salabianca
Black brocade full skirt with tulle: River Island

Black waist belt with gold chainlink: River Island

Navy cardie with pearl embellishments: The Curve

Pearl headband: Teeny's

Black opaques: Random

Red patent maryjanes: Topshop

Bag: Miu Miu

There were people playing music and dancing... That's what I love about Melbourne, it's so lively and... free. :)

Teeny is not a morning person wtf.

Jing prancing freely in the open (like an animal) wtf.

Magnificent sky view!

Sisterly love.

Taking random shots of stylish grandpas. :P

Totally candid shot! No idea what are we like that, haha.

Then it was St. Kilda beach!!! (click to view the pictures better ok!)

So beautiful. *awestruck*

Joshua's very sartorialistic shot. Love his outfit! (especially his boat shoes)

We spotted a happy family 'Kodak' moment! :D

And tried to recreate our own wtf. :P

It was already late afternoon by that time, so we hit 'Beachcombers', one of my favorite al fresco cafes on St Kilda beach. :)

Teeny's cappucino in ombre. *obsessed with clothes wtf*

Mocha, one of my most ordered drink in Melbourne. Somehow mochas in KL don't taste as good.

Pepperoni pizza. Maybe it was the wind (so strong and constantly blowing), the crust was really hard!

Caesar salad with grilled prawns, anchovies, bacon and poached egg. Best salad in the world!

Nachos in melted cheese with salsa and guacamole to share.

Food oh glorious food!

Joshua who swapped seats with me 'cause I didn't want to face the sun.

Me after overtaking his throne. ;)

Black mutt. But CUTEST DOG EVR omg. I wonder how it is so hyper when it can't even see (its eyes are covered with fur hahaha).

Sorry for the unglam shot, the sun was very glaring wtf.

Teeny's matchy bag and ring! Love the ice pink shade. *heart*

The Hoe sisters. :)

All laughs. :)

Group shot!

We sat at the seaside, munching on cold, stale nachos (blame the wind!), while witnessing the breathtaking sunset. :)

We decided to work off the calories by walking down the pier, and catching the sunset upclose.

By then, it was freezing cold!! The sun (and its warmth) bidding us goodbye didn't help either. Blame the wind! >=(

There was a little slope, and Teeny started taking silhouette pictures on it. Jing was feeling so cold she asked Teeny to posed as her 'cause "no one can tell who it is anyway" HAHAHHAHAHA.

The wind was so strong I swear my cheeks were rippling. T_T

So worried for the little doggie that it will get blown into the sea wtf.

Tousled hair and eyes that we could barely open. The wind was CRAZEHHH!

Romance at the pier wtf.

Tiang lampu.

After awhile, it wasn't fun anymore, 'cause we were chilled to the core. :(((

Should I stay or should I go?

Casting one last longing look...

We made our way to Part 2 of the day! Pictures in another post, 'cause this post is getting too long. But as a sneak preview...

This is what's coming next! :P

To right a wrong.

I am auditing a hospital now.
Funny eh? I have fate with doctors and hospitals. When dad tried to force me to do medicine, and I ended up going into business, I bet he and I alike never thought I would still end up be working in a hospital.

I tapped away furiously at my laptop today. The flurry of laughter surrounding me, but I am in daze. I can hear them, but they are not there. Or maybe I am not there. How can a mind be split into two thinking parts, I wondered. One part, so focused on my work, so determined to numb myself. And yet the other, it never stops thinking. Not once.

I could hear them passing around kuihs and chocolate cookies. St Michael's, I noticed, in a faraway manner. The nurses teased each other, sharing their tea goodies while they perfected their lecture slides. Perfect? I used to know what is. I thought I knew.

Shuffling feet sounds neared me. I continued typing away. "Girl, you take one!" The one in the green nurse uniform shoved the box of St. Michael biscuits which I have recognised just now into my face. Flustered, I declined, with waving hands. I am just here doing my work, I vaguely remember saying . "No no! You are in our room! You are one of us! You must take one!" and she waves the box of biscuits in front of my face, not to take no for an answer. Smiling, I took one, just to appease her. I chose the one nearest to me. Incidentally, it was the lumpiest, ugliest cookie there. But there are no ugly cookies in the world. The nurse in the light blue uniform pushed into my hands a plastic cup of warm water. "You will need this as well!" They left some napkins on my table, and walked back to their friends, swallowed by lighthearted chatter.

I clasped my hand around the plastic cup. It was warm. More than warm, almost hot. Just what I needed. 'Cause I was so cold. Such an ordinary act of kindness, but I teared.

***************************************

I thought of my mom today. Maybe it was the kind, motherly women I was surrounded with. But for some reason, I thought of how she used to brush my hair while I lied on her lap. "Mummy loves you", she would tell me. And I always reply absent-mindedly albeit with gusto, "I love you too, mummy!" while I continued to play with my Barbie's hair, while my mom played with mine.

I have never told her any of my problems. Not when I was a kid. 'Cause failure is not tolerated in my family. I never tell her when kids make fun of me, when the crush I had when I was 12 showed my love letter to everyone. Not when I was a teen, and I was angry and angsty. I hate you, I remembered telling her. I didn't tell her that I wanted to be accepted. I wanted to be cool. I didn't want to be one of the smartest girl in school, I just want to go to the movies with my friends. Not when I was in university. Not when I fell in love for the first time. Not when I felt stifled being forced into doing something I don't like. Not when I went abroad for the first time. I seldom call home, I call my sisters straight instead. Not when I was lonely, and wished for my family. And now, not when I am working. Not when all I want is to head home and call it quits. Not when everything is falling apart.

But now, but today, I wondered how it would be, if I lie down on her lap, and just cry softly into the soft, laundered pants of hers. I wonder what advice would she give me, what wise words would she used.

I wish she knows this.

Yesterday, I did possibly the most right thing in my life.

And I gained back one of my oldest, dearest friend. :)

Picking up guys on the streets.

The weekend is hereeee!!

I am supposed to go back home this weekend, but in the end, I decided against it 'cause 1. I am going home next weekend for TWO WEEKS, woohoo! and 2. the boyfriend is packed with work for the weekend. As for the sisters, saw them last weekend, sien already WTF.

It feels wonderful to be sleeping for 11 hours straight wtf, hitting the gym (I stuck to my words, I went to gym yesterday and today! :P), watching older TV shows, reading my magazines, uploading pictures onto Facebook... Bliss! Especially after my hectic week last weekend, this is a welcomed recluse weekend! :D

So now I can be well rested for next weekend-- Macao/Zhuhai, here I come baby!
Might cheat the parents to bring us for a beach holiday as well, be prepared to bring out your bikinis, my dear sisters! :P

Pictures from last weekend when Jing and Teeny were down South:

Went to Royal Copanhagen for a quick bite since we need an energy booster in Orchard.

As you can tell, I was really hungry wtf.

'Cause we planned to head somewhere else for high tea after that, Jing and I only ordered a set meal to share (Teeny was with her friends):

Starter: Minestrone soup, with blended broccoli, which Jing looked at it with disgust, haha.

Mains: Aglio oli linguine with king prawns, squid, and scallops! Yums for me, but Jing doesn't like aglio olio, she prefers cream pasta.

Cream pasta are EVIL!!! (but actually I like too wtf)

Dessert: Chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream.

The menu read "Chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream" and I took it for face value, and was so excited! When this brownie-like thingy arrived on our table, I was quite disappointed. T_T I told Jing I am quite cheapskate, 'cause I think one of the best desserts is a huge warm gooey chocolate cbip cookie with ice cream. :P The only place where I have ever had that is Max kitchen-- where we paid more than RM20 for it, fuck my life.

Jing and a prawn head wtf.

Feeling very ladylike. :P

Yummiest Christmas tree on Orchard Road. ;)

We wanted to go some place really quaint and whimsical for tea-- I even took down the address and phone number of the place! Luckily I gave the place a call before we went down, turns out the place is closed on Sundays! T_T

So we stayed on in Orchard...

My Vivienne Westwood x Melissas! *heart heart heart* The ones which got lost in the mail, and ASOS resent it again. T_T

Dodgy nameless woman who changed into flats after her feet screamed agony in her heels, haha.

Teeny! I made her carry the unglam green bag 'cause it matched her outfit! If I have carried it (with my red polka dot dress), I would look like Santa's elf wtf.

Jing's dark, glossy shoes!

VS

Our cutesy ones!

Love Teeny's shoes! Almost feel like getting a pair of myself, but I figured it's easy to recreate the look with some false eyelashes WTF.

Greedy us, we had tea again after that at Coffee Club! This is my chicken pie, with the contents overflowing out. :)

There was a stuffed toy cake on the counter of one of the shops, so we stole it to camwhore in the dressing room. :P Teeny really looks like a model in Vivi here! *envious*

Being touristy in Ngee Ann City.

They never changed the tree!!! Check out pictures of the same tree in 2006 HAHAHAHA. But thank god we have changed! T__T

Scandal alert, we picked up some guys in Singapore!

Right outside Ion Orchard wtf.

She looks like she is having sex. T__T

Teeny is almost as tall as the statues!

Red polka dot backless bow-back dress: Jing's
Chunky pearls and chains braided necklace: Junkyard sale
Baby blue peeptoes with red hearts: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa
Bag: Louis Vutton

We had such an AWESOME time shopping in Orchard! I usually don't shop in Singapore 'cause-- Timeout, this is a community service message, boys and girls, shopping in Singapore is more expensive!!! If you can get the brand in M'sia, I suggest you get it in M'sia instead, it will be about 20% cheaper!!!-- and I usually do all my commercial shopping back in KL. But it's something with being 2 shopaholic sisters that unlocked my shopping floodgates! T__T Maybe 'cause it's been sometime since the three of us shopped together, the last time would be when Jing and I were in Melbourne. I spent almost SGD300 in less than 2 hours. T________T And almost got something from Miu Miu and shoes from Salvatore Ferragamo. T_______T

I told Jing that I spent almost SGD1k when they were down (for barely 4 days), and she scolded me when she found out that I included my SGD300 of shopping in the amount. I told her that I wouldn't have spent that money if they didn't come down!! In denial wtf.

Besides spending on shopping, I also returned SGD250 to Jing (I owe her heaps of money T_T), and what with treating my sisters here and there, Teeny's birthday dinner and cake, cab trips, McShakers fries WTF, the SGD1k seems reasonable. FML!

Now you know why I have to lock myself up indoors this weekend. Must. Conserve. Money!!! And blow it when I am back next week WTF!
